I INDORE: Two employees of Madhya Pradesh Paschim Vidyut Vitran Company Ltd were arrested in Dhar district on Wednesday for threatening to implicate a man in a power theft case and taking a bribe. Lokayukta official said that on December 24, they had received a written complaint from a customer Ajay Patidar. He said that 15 days ago assistant engineer Ranjeet Kumar had come to his house and took away the electricity meter. “When we asked him why was he taking away our meter, he said that there was some problem in it. He did not give us any written document that he was taking it away. His lineman gave us a direct connection and they went back. They returned after a few days and Ranjeet said that we were using the electricity illegally and he will register a case against us,” said Patidar. Patidar added that the accused then asked them to give him Rs 70,000 to get the meter back and to avoid getting any case registered. Patidar and his family members decided to approach Lokayukta police. Acting on the complaint by Patidar, a trap was laid and the accused Singh and his helper Naresh Kumar Nageshwar were arrested red-handed while accepting the first installment of the bribe.
