Power theft-the Chirodi way

A recent incident in Meerut’s Chirodi village revealed that individuals are employing innovative methods to steal electricity. The residents used a kilometre-long underground cable that supplied 10 kilowatts from a transformer to their residences. Power theft is a legal offence that can result in penalties and jail time. As a result, power outages in cities and towns are unpredictable. If someone steals electricity, notify the power company immediately.
