tamperfinderNew Delhi: Officials of Anti-power theft squad of BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL) were allegedly attacked and two officials wounded while conducting routine inspection in the East Delhi.
The rate of power theft is estimated as around 30% in this area and Discom arranged a special drive. The perpetrators were so prepared that the accompanying Police was taken by surprise.
This happenened when the officials had detected a power theft and collecting
evidence of that.
The electricity was being used for unlawful mechanized and illegal e-rickshaw
charging and parking centre
Earlier in July 2017, a youthful
engineer lost his life when was attacked by power thieves in South West Delhi
by a mob on same issue
Power-theft is out of control in several pockets in Delhi like Chandni Mahal,Turkman Gate, Daryaganj,
Dallupura, Najafgargh, Jaffarpur, Mundka, Badarpur, Shaheen Bagh, Jafrabad,
Sherpur, Usmanpur, Sabhapur, Ghonda, Gamri, Gokulpur, Kabir Naga, Moujpur,
Chouhan Banger and Tukmeerpur etc.
