Electronic meters to prevent Power theft in Agra

The Indian city of Agra will soon be provided with Electronic energy meters to all high consumption consumers. Power theft in Agra is rampant and this shift in technology will control electricity theft. E-meters will be installed in densely populated areas where access for inspection is difficult. If the meter is tampered with, the power supply of the consumer will be disconnected automatically.
Installation of electronic meters in 100 streets of Mantola town in Agra which is notorious for Power theft has been started. Underground cables are also laid for this works.
