Maharashtra offers consumers a pardon for Power theft.

In response to the recent detection of about 200 Power theft cases through the end of May 2022, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has declared an amnesty for Power theft (Electricity Theft). For further investigation and financial recovery, these offences have been brought to the notice police station.

Time is wasted waiting for the offender to be punished or for the money to be paid to the exchequer. Discom representatives and defaulters were invited to a meeting by the Kalyan Police. It is anticipated that MSEDCL’s unrealized revenue will decrease.
